Where Eagles Dare
Selhurst Park is the home of Crystal Palace FC, a British Premier League football team. The team are based in Croydon, South London and are managed by former player Alan Pardew. The ground is a very traditional, typical, British football ground. It has one of the smallest capacities in the Premier League and is always sold out.
Crystal Palace have the best mascot in football - a live bald eagle that flies around the ground. If you are lucky on a match day - you might get to meet Kayla the eagle in and around the stadium. Kayla's handlers will pose for photos and away fans absolutely love her. Donations go towards Kayla's upkeep and local animal sanctuaries.
My bf's dad is a lifelong Crystal Palace supporter and sits in the Holmesdale end of the ground. He has been attending games at Crystal Palace for nearly 60 years.
This is one of the most welcoming clubs in British football. They are interesting to take photos of as there's a good range of supporters and characters. Palace fans are really genuine and friendly and welcome away fans, but with a lot of banter. When West Ham play here we stand in the Arthur Waite stand which is a noisy and crazy atmosphere. There's also a lot of Palace v Hammers banter around the streets of Norwood before the game starts.
