Smugmug ruined the community of the DC by removing this feature and fracturing the friendships that had grown in the community over a number of years. None of the contacts I made can now see when I upload a new photo and I cannot see theirs.
As a consequence, views on my photos dropped from about 20,000 a day to about 40 a day.
Bristol
'in a still afternoon when no wind whirled them whistling to the sky'
Believe it or not, this is a real photo. I don't do stuff like sticking things into pictures or pasting things from PS as I think it looks naff. I will leave that to other people who seem to think that kind of thing looks good.
Anyway, this was taken in Bristol in a park. I was taking a pic of the tree branches and railings as they looked spooky and sort of Hallowe'enish. Then the sycamore (??) leaf came falling down into my face and I snapped it as it came down - producing this unusual an unexpected autumn pic which was better than the shot of the branches. The flash was on so has illuminated the leaf well.
I finally put a shopping cart on my site, so you can buy the unwatermarked print here:

on January 10, 2018When I first saw this image I thought it was a leaf floating on blue water, with reflections in the water. This is even more amazing--beautiful.

on October 16, 2015I like the shot and the back story. It gives new meaning to the expression 'gob smacked'. I've had zero luck trying to capture photos of falling leaves, so good on you for getting it so right on the first try.
