Local events
Photos of local events and character portraits. I don't charge for photos with the characters because they do a lot for tourism, education and charities across Medway. I have also taken lots of pics for families at events, for free.
To be honest, it's 2022 and I may stop doing this. I've taken a great deal of pics this year post-covid and made it clear there is no charge. Yet, not one of them has contacted me to get the pics despite my card and email address being given out.
Apart from the wonderful Children of the Revolution, who always reply to messages, not a single other character or performer in Medway has ever used any of my pics on their social media, so I have had a crisis of confidence lately, wondering why and wondering why they don't like them or don't want to use them. I know this is really BS on my part, but it's really upset me. I feel I am helping people, being kind, offering my skills for free, and am not even worthy of a reply if I contact them on social media.
So I have thought lately, my photos are obviously shite. And of no interest or value.
The same thing happened to my 15 year old son a year ago when some loser on Flickr sent him a horrible message saying his pictures weren't good enough for some poncy street photography group. Led to a 14 year old crying his eyes out. And I have to question it because at 15 years old he is an amazing photographer who has the compositional mind that has taken me my whole life to find - he's got it at 15.
So in 2022, I'm thinking - why is this happening? Because there are a lot of good pictures of these local events, but also a huge lot of really bad ones, which are all over social media with our local characters loving these and ignoring mine.
Guess I will just have to get out of my own backside and accept the fact I'm not good at this.

I really liked this picture of these two, and I will be honest, was really disappointed that they didn't like it. I noticed they had used pretty much everyone else's pictures on their social media, a lot which were not great, but chose to ignore mine which I had sent to them., At least I had tried to get a good pic with the castle and jubilee flag. To be honest, I was quite upset about it but I suppose I have learnt something here and won't bother again.
